DESCRIPTION
Pathogen description
Thrips are small insects belonging to the order Thysanoptera, which includes a wide variety of species both beneficial and harmful to agricultural crops. Among the thrips that cause problems in agriculture are Frankliniella occidentalis and Thrips tabaci. These insects feed on plant sap and can transmit viruses, causing significant damage to various crops.
Disease description
In peas, thrips infestation can cause a series of symptoms that are detrimental to the health of the plant. Among the most common signs are curling and discoloration of the leaves, the formation of silver or tan Taches on the surface, and the deformation of the pods and flowers. Additionally, thrips can transmit viruses to peas, further aggravating crop damage.

TEMPERATURE AND HUMIDITY
20°C - 30°C
60% - 80%

VOIES DE TRANSMISSION
Active flight, human transportation, movement of infested plants, biological vectors, packaging material, agricultural equipment.

To prevent and control thrips infestation in pea crops, it is recommended to implement a series of integrated pest management measures. This includes removing weeds that may serve as harborage for thrips, using sticky traps to monitor their presence, rotating crops, and applying organic or chemical insecticides as needed.
