INFUSIÓN DE PLÁTANO Y CÁSCARA DE HUEVO
Banana and eggshell infusion: a natural source of phosphorus for plants
How does it work?
How is it prepared?
The preparation is simple and uses typical household organic waste.
Recipe:
• 2 banana peels
• 2 well-washed eggshells
• 1 liter of water
• Pot or container for boiling
Steps:
1. Wash the eggshells well to remove any traces of white or yolk.
2. Cut the banana peels into small pieces to facilitate nutrient extraction.
3. Place both ingredients in a pot with the liter of water.
4. Boil for 10 minutes.
5. Turn off the heat and let the mixture sit for 8–12 hours.
6. Strain the infusion and discard the solid remains or add them to the compost.
7. Store in a covered jar or watering can.
How to apply it?
• Water directly around the plant; no need to dilute.
• Apply every 10–15 days during periods of growth, flowering, or if deficiency symptoms appear.
• Avoid wetting the leaves to prevent spotting or unpleasant odors.
• Use preferably in the afternoon.
• Do not store the mixture for more than 3–4 days (it may ferment).
• In cases of moderate or severe deficiency, supplement with a fertilizer richer in phosphorus.
