DESCRIPTION
WHO CAUSES IT?
The white mite, also known as Polyphagotarsonemus latus, is a small mite that belongs to the Tarsonemidae family. This pathogen is especially problematic in agriculture, as it attacks a wide range of crops, including cannabis. White mites are difficult to detect with the naked eye due to their small size, making them difficult to control once they have established themselves in a plantation.
SYMPTOMS
In cannabis, the white mite can cause a disease known as acariasis. Symptoms include yellow or silver Taches on the leaves, deformation of the shoots, necrosis at the tips of the leaves, and a generally unhealthy appearance of the plant. Additionally, mites can spin fine webs on leaves and shoots, indicating a severe infestation.
