DESCRIPTION
WHO CAUSES IT?
Thrips are tiny insects belonging to the order Thysanoptera, known for their ability to cause damage to a wide variety of plants. These insects are usually only a few millimeters in length and have elongated bodies with narrow wings fringed with hairs. Thrips feed on plant tissues by piercing the surface of leaves and sucking cellular fluids, which can cause aesthetic damage and weakening of the plant.
SYMPTOMS
In the case of aloe arborescens, thrips can cause significant damage to the leaves by feeding on them. Symptoms of thrips infestation on aloe arborescens include the presence of silver or silvery-purple Taches on the leaves, which may turn brown over time. In addition, signs of deformation can be observed on the leaves, as well as the presence of black excrement or sticky residue on their surface.

TEMPERATURE AND HUMIDITY

HOW IS IT SPREAD?
Passive transport by wind, movement of infected plants, exchange of plant material and active dispersal of adult insects in search of new food sources.
