Application mode:
It is not applied directly to plants. Aluminum phosphide is used exclusively as a fumigant to control pests in stored products or soils, releasing phosphine gas (PH₃) upon contact with moisture. Its use is restricted to controlled environments, such as warehouses, silos or soils before planting.
Application tips:
- Should only be handled by authorized and trained personnel, with full protective equipment.
- Do not open or apply in closed spaces without adequate ventilation.
- Place the pills or tablets following the doses recommended by the manufacturer and local regulations.
- Mark the treated area and prevent access by people or animals during and after fumigation until the place is completely ventilated.
- Never use in the presence of growing crops or in inhabited spaces.
- Eliminate waste in accordance with current legislation on toxic products.
Toxicity:
- For humans: Highly toxic and potentially fatal by inhalation, ingestion or prolonged contact. Improper use can cause serious poisoning or death.
- For bees: Extremely toxic. It should never be applied in the presence of insects or fauna.
- For natural allies: Non-selective. Lethal to beneficial fauna if there is direct or close exposure. Do not apply in the presence of useful organisms.
- For the environment: Very toxic for aquatic organisms and terrestrial fauna. Use with extreme caution and avoid any contact with water sources or soil intended for immediate crops.
