BAKING SODA AND NEUTRAL SOAP SOLUTION
SOLUCIÓN DE BICARBONATO Y JABÓN NEUTRO
How does it work?
The baking soda and neutral soap solution is a home remedy widely used to combat fungal diseases such as anthracnose, Cercospora fungi, botrytis, white mold and other superficial infections. Baking soda alters the pH of the surface of the leaves, creating an alkaline environment that prevents the development and spread of fungal spores. Neutral soap acts as a wetting agent, helping the baking soda adhere better to the leaves and improving the distribution of the solution over the plant.
How is it prepared?
The preparation of this solution is quick and simple, using common ingredients.
Recipe for 1 liter of solution:
- 1 liter of water
- 1 tablespoon (10 g) baking soda
- 1 teaspoon (5 ml) of neutral liquid soap (without perfumes or dyes)
Preparation:
1. Dissolve the baking soda in the liter of water, stirring well.
2. Add the neutral soap and mix gently until there is a homogeneous solution.
3. Pour into a clean spray bottle and shake before each use.
Prepare only the amount that is going to be used, as it loses effectiveness over time.
How to apply it?
The solution is applied by spraying, covering all parts of the plant well, especially the affected leaves and their underside.
Application frequency:
- In case of presence of fungi: apply every 3 to 4 days until improvement is observed.
- As a preventive measure: apply every 7 to 10 days during times of high humidity or risk of fungal diseases.
Tips:
- Apply preferably in the early morning or in the evening.
- Avoid using during hours of high sun to prevent burns on the leaves.
- Do not combine with other treatments without checking compatibility.
- If it rains, repeat the application when the leaves are dry again.
