#F011#

Fungicida

PYRACLOSTROBIN

Fungicide

GROUP

FRAC 11

GROUP NAME

QoI - Strobilurins (Quinone outside Inhibitors)

MoA (Mode of Action)

Inhibition of mitochondrial respiration at complex III (Qo site)

RESISTANCE LEVEL

High

CLASSIFICATION

Local, systémique, translaminaire et avec redistribution en phase vapeur

TYPE

Specific site

ACTIVITY

Primarily preventative with slight initial curative activity

Description

A systemic fungicide belonging to the QoI (Quinone outside Inhibitor) strobilurin group, widely used for the preventative control of foliar diseases caused by phytopathogenic fungi. It acts by inhibiting mitochondrial respiration by blocking electron transfer at the Qo site of complex III (cytochrome bc1), preventing ATP production and pathogen development. It exhibits significant preventative activity, antisporulant action, and good residual persistence.

Application Conditions

It is applied by foliar spraying, preferably preventively or in the early stages of infection. Uniform coverage of the crop must be ensured, and it should be alternated with fungicides with different modes of action to reduce the risk of resistance development. It is recommended to integrate it into integrated pest management programs and resistance control strategies.

Compatibility in Treatment Programs

Compatible with multi-site fungicides and IPM programs; alternation with fungicides of different FRAC classifications is recommended.

Cross-Resistance

Yes, it exhibits cross-resistance with other QoI fungicides from group FRAC 11

Maximum Number of Applications

Maximum 1-2 consecutive applications according to anti-resistance recommendations

Recommendations for Use

Recommended in mixture or alternation with multi-site fungicides to reduce selection pressure

Compatibility with Beneficial Organisms

Generally yes, when used in accordance with the authorized conditions

Technical Notes

Pyraclostrobin is notable for its broad spectrum of activity, high persistence, and associated physiological effects in some crops (“green effect”), related to delayed leaf senescence. It shares the high risk of resistance development characteristic of chylomicron inhibitors (QoIs) due to mutations in the cytochrome b gene, and therefore must be used within resistance management programs.
