BACILLUS THURINGIENSIS KURSTAKI (STRAIN PB 54)

BACILLUS THURINGIENSIS KURSTAKI (CEPA PB 54)

Application mode:

Foliar application by spraying, covering well the foliage where the caterpillars feed. Bacillus thuringiensis kurstaki (strain PB 54) is an entomopathogenic bacterium that produces crystalline toxins (Cry) that exclusively affect butterfly and moth caterpillars (Lepidoptera). When ingested by the larvae, these toxins pierce the insect's intestine, causing its death in a few days.

Application tips:

- Apply preferably when observing the first caterpillars or signs of feeding.
- Carry out the applications in cool hours (morning or afternoon) and in the absence of rain to favor the persistence of the product.
- Avoid temperatures higher than 28-30°C at the time of application, as it may reduce the effectiveness of the product.
- Do not apply together with cupric fungicides or products with a very alkaline pH, as they could affect the viability of the spores.
- Perform repetitions every 7-10 days if the presence of caterpillars persists or if there are new generations.
- Ideal for horticultural, fruit, ornamental, forestry and organic farming crops.

Toxicity:

- For humans: Non-toxic. It is considered safe for the applicator and the consumer if used correctly.
- For bees: Non-toxic. It does not interfere with the activity of pollinators.
- For natural allies: Highly selective. It only affects lepidopteran larvae, respecting predators, parasitoids and other beneficial insects.
- For the environment: Biodegradable and safe. It does not contaminate the soil or water bodies.

Read the manufacturer's instructions carefully, respect the doses and times and follow the recommendations for use.
