NEOSEIULUS CALIFORNICUS
Neoseiulus californicus – Instructions for use and recommendations for the predatory mite against the red spider mite
Application mode:
Direct release of predatory mites onto plants or in strategic areas of the crop where initial pest outbreaks are detected. This can be done manually or using gradual release systems, depending on the product's commercial format (sachets, bottles, or carrier material). Neoseiulus californicus should preferably be applied in the early stages of infestation or preventively, to allow its establishment in the crop before pest populations multiply. Optimal conditions for its development are moderate temperatures and relative humidity above 60%. Once established, the predator moves throughout the plant actively searching for prey and maintains continuous control of spider mite, thrips, and other mite populations.
Application tips:
• Release predators preventively or at the first signs of pest infestation.
• Avoid incompatible chemical treatments before or after release, especially broad-spectrum acaricides.
• Distribute the predators evenly throughout the crop, paying particular attention to the most affected areas.
• Maintain suitable humidity and temperature conditions to promote the predator's establishment and reproduction.
• Can be combined with other compatible natural enemies, such as Amblyseius swirskii or Phytoseiulus persimilis, to improve the control of mixed pests.
• Repeat releases periodically in long-cycle crops or when environmental conditions are unfavorable.
Toxicity:
• For humans: Harmless. It poses no health risks and requires no special protective measures.
• For bees: Non-toxic. Safe for pollinators and other beneficial insects.
• For beneficial insects: Fully compatible with most natural enemies used in biological control.
• For the environment: A natural and safe product. It leaves no residue, does not contaminate soil or water, and contributes to the ecological balance of the agroecosystem.
Read the manufacturer's instructions carefully, respect the doses and times and follow the recommendations for use.
