INFUSIÓN DE AJO
Garlic infusion: a home remedy to correct sulfur deficiency in plants
How does it work?
How is it prepared?
The preparation is simple and only requires garlic and water.
Recipe:
• 4–5 cloves of garlic
• 1 liter of water
• A mortar and pestle or knife for crushing the garlic
• A pot for boiling
Steps:
1. Crush the garlic cloves to release their sulfur compounds.
2. Heat the liter of water to a boil.
3. Add the crushed garlic to the boiling water.
4. Keep the mixture boiling for 5 minutes.
5. Turn off the heat and let it steep for at least 8–12 hours.
6. Strain the infusion and store it in a dark jar or spray bottle.
How to apply it?
• Apply to the soil via irrigation, undiluted or slightly diluted (1:1) if the plant is sensitive.
• Repeat application every 7–10 days until an improvement in leaf color is observed.
• It can also be applied to the leaves, but always diluted 1:2 to avoid irritation or burning.
• Use preferably in the evening or during periods of low light.
• Do not apply excessively to avoid strong odors or soil saturation.
• Supplement with a sulfur fertilizer if the deficiency is moderate or severe.
Note: Diluted 1:1 means the same amount of infusion as water, for example, 500 ml of infusion and 500 ml of water.
Diluted 1:2 means adding twice the amount of water, i.e., 500 ml of infusion plus 1 liter of water.
