DESCRIPTION
WHO CAUSES IT?
Aphids, also known as aphids, are small sucking insects that belong to the Aphididae family. They are one of the most common pests that affect ornamental and garden plants. These insects feed on plant sap, which can weaken them and make them more susceptible to other diseases. Aphids can reproduce rapidly and colonize large areas of plants in a short time, making them a significant threat to plant health.
SYMPTOMS
The disease caused by aphids in ornamental and garden plants manifests itself with the presence of the insects themselves on the leaves, stems and tender shoots of the plants. Symptoms include yellowing and wilting of leaves, deformation of shoots, and curling of leaves. Additionally, aphids can secrete a sticky substance called honeydew, which encourages the growth of sooty mold fungi and can affect the appearance of plants.
