DESCRIPTION
WHO CAUSES IT?
Leaf blight, caused by the pathogen Cercospora kikuchii, is a fungal disease that affects various crops, including soybeans. This fungus is able to survive on the remains of infected plants in the soil for long periods, making it a persistent threat to agricultural crops.
SYMPTOMS
In soybeans, leaf blight causes dark brown to black leaf Taches to appear on the plant's leaves. These Taches are usually surrounded by a yellowish halo and can coalesce, forming larger necrotic areas. As a result, leaves may turn yellow prematurely and drop, which can reduce crop yield.
