ABONOS FÉRRICOS / FERTILIZANTES FÉRRICOS
Iron fertilizers – Instructions and tips for treating iron deficiency in plants
Application method:
Application tips:
• Apply in the early morning or late afternoon to improve foliar absorption and avoid scalding.
• In calcareous soils or soils with a high pH, EDDHA chelates are preferable, as they are the only ones stable above pH 7.5–8.
• Maintain constant soil moisture after applying iron: drought severely limits its availability.
• Do not mix in the same tank with highly alkaline products or calcium to avoid precipitation.
• Repeat application every 2–4 weeks depending on the severity of chlorosis and the type of crop.
• In sensitive ornamental plants (hydrangeas, gardenias, citrus), it may be necessary to apply several times a year.
• Perform a preliminary test if using for the first time or on young plants.
Toxicity:
• For humans: Low toxicity at agricultural doses. May cause mild skin or eye irritation; wear gloves and avoid inhaling chelated dust.
• For bees: Non-toxic. Can be applied without risk to pollinators.
• For beneficial insects: Does not affect beneficial insects, as it is a nutritional supplement, not a pesticide.
• For the environment: Low impact if used correctly. Avoid direct discharge into bodies of water.
