WHO CAUSES IT?
Dialeurodes citri, known as the citrus whitefly, is a sucking insect that feeds on the sap of plants, including lemon trees. This pest can cause significant damage by weakening the plant and transmitting viruses, affecting the health and production of lemon trees.
SYMPTOMS
In lemon trees, Dialeurodes citri infestation can cause a series of harmful symptoms. Among the most common signs are the presence of yellow or silver Taches on the underside of the leaves, due to the feeding and excretion of the whitefly. Additionally, the presence of sticky honeydew and the formation of sooty mold fungi on leaves and branches are also indicators of infestation.
