DESCRIPTION

WHO CAUSES IT?

The pathogen "angular spot (Xanthomonas fragariae)" is a bacteria that mainly affects strawberry plants. It is characterized by being gram-negative and having the shape of a bacillus. This bacteria lodges in the plant tissues, causing significant damage to strawberry production and reducing the quality of the fruits.

SYMPTOMS

The disease it produces in strawberries, known as angular spot, initially manifests itself as small reddish-brown lesions on the leaves, which can spread and join together, forming angular necrotic areas. In advanced stages, lesions can also be observed on the fruits, affecting their quality and causing economic losses for producers.
