DESCRIPTION
WHO CAUSES IT?

Its life cycle involves infection of host plant cells, where it replicates and produces new viral particles. These particles spread through different means, including the activity of insect vectors and direct contact between plants.
SYMPTOMS
Lettuce mosaic virus causes a series of symptoms in lettuce plants, including leaf Taches and deformations, reduced growth and production, and in severe cases, plant death.
- Taches and deformations on the leaves.
- Reduced growth and production.

- Use certified and virus-free seeds.
- Practice disinfection of agricultural tools and equipment to prevent the spread of the virus.
- Implement measures to control insect vectors, such as the use of anti-insect nets or the application of specific insecticides.
- Eliminate and destroy infected plants to reduce the source of viral inoculum in the crop.
- Promote genetic diversity in lettuce crops to increase resistance to viral diseases.
