Fungicida

IMINOCTADINE

Fungicide

GROUP

FRAC 29

GROUP NAME

Amidines

MoA (Mode of Action)

Alteration of cell membranes and metabolic processes

RESISTANCE LEVEL

Low-medium

CLASSIFICATION

contact et pénétration locaux

TYPE

Specific site with multifunctional action

ACTIVITY

Preventive and early curative

Description

A contact fungicide and bactericide belonging to the amidine group, used for the preventive and early curative control of various diseases caused by phytopathogenic fungi, especially botrytis, anthracnose, alternaria, scab, and bacterial diseases in fruit trees, vegetables, and ornamental crops. It acts by altering the integrity and functionality of the cell membrane of microorganisms through interaction with phospholipids and membrane components, causing metabolic alterations and loss of cell permeability. It also interferes with essential respiratory and enzymatic processes. It primarily acts through contact, with some local penetration and high surface persistence.

Application Conditions

It is applied by preventive foliar spraying or in the early stages of disease development, ensuring uniform and complete coverage of the plant surface. It can be used alone or in mixtures with other fungicides within integrated pest management programs. Due to its mode of action, it is particularly useful in resistance-control strategies when combined with systemic fungicides. The authorized dose must be respected, and continuous repeated applications of the same mode of action should be avoided.

Compatibility in Treatment Programs

Compatible with multi-site fungicides and IPM programs; alternation with fungicides of different FRAC classifications is recommended.

Cross-Resistance

Limited; possible partial cross-resistance within the FRAC group 29

Maximum Number of Applications

Maximum 1-2 consecutive applications according to the anti-resistance strategy and authorized label

Recommendations for Use

Recommended in mixture or alternation with systemic and multi-site fungicides to broaden the spectrum and reduce selection pressure

Compatibility with Beneficial Organisms

Generally yes when used according to authorized recommendations, although it may be toxic to aquatic organisms.

Technical Notes

Iminoctadine stands out for its effectiveness against botrytis, anthracnose, and storage diseases, as well as for its usefulness in resistance management programs thanks to its different mode of action compared to other more commonly used fungicides. It exhibits good surface persistence and preventive efficacy when applied correctly before or at the onset of infection.
