#F003#
Fungicida
Description
A systemic fungicide belonging to the triazole group, primarily used to control powdery mildew, rust, scab, and other foliar diseases caused by phytopathogenic fungi in numerous fruit, vegetable, and ornamental crops. It acts by inhibiting ergosterol biosynthesis through the blockage of the C14-demethylase (CYP51) enzyme, essential for the formation and stability of fungal cell membranes. Disruption of this process impairs mycelial growth, cell division, and spore production. It exhibits preventative and early curative activity, as well as some eradication action in the initial stages of infection. It also has upward systemic movement and partial translaminar activity, which promotes prolonged protection of treated foliage.
Application Conditions
It is applied by preventive foliar spraying or at the first sign of disease. It is important to ensure uniform coverage of the crop and to respect the recommended application intervals. It should be integrated into resistance management programs, alternating with fungicides with different modes of action.
Compatibility in Treatment Programs
Compatible with multi-site fungicides and integrated disease management programs
Cross-Resistance
There is partial or total cross-resistance within FRAC 3 fungicides
Maximum Number of Applications
Maximum 1-2 consecutive applications according to FRAC strategy
Recommendations for Use
Alternation or mixing with multi-site fungicides is recommended to reduce selection pressure.
Compatibility with Beneficial Organisms
Generally yes, when used according to authorized recommendations
Technical Notes
Bitertanol was widely used for its good systemic activity and efficacy against powdery mildew and scab in fruit trees. As with other DMI fungicides in the FRAC 3 group, repeated use can promote the development of resistant strains, so it should be used within resistance management strategies and integrated disease management.
