Compsus sp., commonly known as the "virgin burrita", is an insect belonging to the family Curculionidae. Adults are small, metallic green beetles that feed mainly on leaves and young shoots. The females lay their eggs on the foliage, and after hatching, the larvae fall to the ground where they develop, feeding on the roots. This larval development can last several weeks, depending on environmental conditions. Upon completing their development, the larvae pupate in the soil, emerging as adults after a few weeks.
