DESCRIPTION
WHO CAUSES IT?
Acrolepiopsis assectella is an insect known as the onion moth, which is an important pathogen for onion crops worldwide. This insect has a larval phase that feeds on the leaves and bulbs of onion, causing significant damage. Adults are small gray moths that emerge from pupae in the ground. The females lay their eggs on the leaves of onions, and the larvae burrow into the plant tissues to feed.
