DESCRIPTION
WHO CAUSES IT?
Rust is a fungal disease caused by various fungi of the genus Puccinia, which affects a wide variety of ornamental and garden plants. These fungi are characterized by forming reproductive structures called uredospores, which appear as yellow, orange or brown powdery Taches on the surface of the leaves, stems and shoots of infected plants. Rust can cause premature defoliation of plants, weakening their health and affecting their aesthetic appearance.
SYMPTOMS
The disease caused by rust in ornamental and garden plants manifests itself with the presence of yellow, orange or brown Taches on the surface of the leaves, stems and shoots. These Taches are usually accompanied by a fine powder, which corresponds to the spores of the fungus. Over time, infected leaves may wilt, curl, and drop prematurely, weakening the plant and reducing its ability to produce flowers or fruit.

To prevent and control the spread of rust in ornamental and garden plants, it is important to implement integrated pest management practices. This includes the removal of infected plant remains, the use of resistant varieties, the application of preventive fungicides and maintaining adequate ventilation and drainage in the crop.
