WHO CAUSES IT?

Phlyctema vagabunda is a fungus that causes the disease known as olive leprosy. This pathogen spreads through spores, which are spread by rain and wind. The spores can infect the leaves, branches and fruits of the olive tree, causing brown or black lesions to form on the affected areas. As the disease progresses, the lesions expand and can cause defoliation and branch death.
